Condition/Treatment
This charter showed severe and tenacious stains due to improper storing conditions. Wide-range loss and thinned areas in the left half was caused by humidity and damage by rodents.
After extensive mechanical cleaning all tears and losses were mended with several layers of dyed Japanese paper and isinglass-glue. The attached wax seal and its wooden case were filled-in to avoid further loss.
